Bonny Myers

Bonny brings realistic interpretations of life and landscapes, drawing on the sketches, photographs and memories of local scenes and from her travels. These, sources, together with her studies of many famous artists' work in galleries and museums, enable her to portray the feelings each subject and vista evokes.

Bonny Myers (BONITA) was introduced to art in children’s classes at the age of 10, and then studied with adults at 13 in Quebec City. Much later she created with clay and several “Folk Arts” while being a busy wife, mother of three children and part-time RN.  She returned to painting after her children had grown when she attended classes for three years in Calgary using Acrylic medium.

She continues to take workshops and classes with numerous diverse artists in Canada and abroad.

Bonny's works are signed BONITA and have been shown at the Sidney Fine Arts Show, the Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society, at the Coast Collective Art Gallery, at Goward House and, since 2008, at the Victoria Sketch Club annual Spring show. Her works are in private collections throughout Canada and abroad.

Bonny is also member of Studio Madrona, the Saanich Peninsula Arts & Crafts Society (SPAC), the Oak Bay Art Club, The Oak Bay Community Artists Society and the Victoria Sketch Club, where she served as President.
